Health Update: Health Update: Taariq is Putting Pensioners First and on Their Feet for a Morning of Wellness – What Experts Say– What Experts Say.

Pensioners, this one is for you! This Friday marks the launch of the Wentworth Wellness Morning, a special event designed to put the community’s seniors first and ensure their health is in top form.

Wentworth, South Africa (26 February 2026) – Most community projects often prioritise the needs and concerns of children, the youth and vulnerable adults. Rightfully so, but sometimes, in that rush forward, the people who paved the way for us, our elders, can sometimes find themselves pushed to the margins. They have walked the longest roads, yet their needs often wait at the back of the line.

In a move to change this and put pensioners first, active community member Taariq Stokes is officially launching the Wellness Morning in Wentworth, a space dedicated entirely to those who have given so much to our community.

“In partnership with YESS Programme and Mediskills Healthcare Foundation, we’re creating a space to bring all the pensioners in the community enjoy a fun-filled, free, life-changing programme to help you move better, feel stronger, and live healthier,” Taariq says.

The wellness day will include a light cardio workout, healthy refreshments and free health checks for blood pressure, cholesterol, sugar, BMI and prostate cancer screening.

Taariq assures that this is not a once-off programme, but will run throughout the year in the last week of every month.

“This is more than exercise. It’s energy, connection, confidence, and community. Adding more LIFE to your years! All pensioners are welcome. Move, laugh, check your health, and be uplifted.”

If you’re a senior, this is your invitation to come through, get those knees moving, be seen, and be celebrated.

The wellness day kicks off this Friday, 27 February, from 8:30 am to 10:00 am at the Blue Roof Life Space on Austerville Drive.
