The Opposition Congress on Sunday hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his “dirty, naked” politics remarks, saying he should first look in the mirror himself.
Speaking to reporters, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate said, “If the country’s Prime Minister calls the country’s youth naked, then he should first look in the mirror himself – because naked are you, who surrendered before America”.

She continued, “Naked are you, who bartered away the rights of Indian farmers; Naked are you, who served the country’s data to America on a platter; Naked are you, who stopped buying oil from Russia on America’s instructions; Naked are you, who promised to zero out tariffs on America; Naked are you, who promised to buy 500 billion dollars’ worth of goods from America; Naked are you, who opened the path to the ruin of the country’s farmers, the devastation of industry; Naked are you, who bartered away India’s energy security before America.”
The Congress response came shortly after PM Modi slammed the Opposition party over its youth wing’s shirtless protest at the India-AI Impact Summit 2026.
Coming down heavily on the “oldest party of the country,” Modi said the Congress has become ideologically bankrupt.
“I ask the Congress leaders, the nation knows that you are already naked, so why did you feel the need to take off your clothes? This shows that the oldest party of the country has become ideologically bankrupt,” the Prime Minister said while addressing a gathering in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.
Accusing the Congress party of defaming the nation, PM Modi said, “When someone gets married in a village, everyone helps the household so that the guests take along a good picture of the village. However, Congress is focused on defaming its own country.”
Meanwhile, Congress leader Srinivas BV also shared a purported image of BJP leaders’ shirtless protest.
“If stripping off a T-shirt to protest is called nudity? Then what do you call this?,” the former Youth Congress president said on X.
