Celebrities had timelines buzzing this Valentine’s Day, and fans did what they do best, which is overanalysing every post and caption.

This time, it was rapper Nadia Nakai and amapiano hitmaker Toss who sent fans straight into detective mode and had them side-eyeing the two.

The pair took to Instagram, and both shared a jaw-dropping post that featured a set of pictures showing the “Naaa Meaan” hitmaker wrapped around and holding on to Toss for dear life while sitting on his lap.

One picture showed them laughing and looking very comfortable in each other’s arms.

Nakai wore a one-piece leopard print swimsuit with a chunky gold chain and, true to his nature, Toss was shirtless, sporting just his caramel pants and black Prada shades.

While they shocked many, they did not explain.

Toss captioned his post with “1 Corinthians 13:4 – 8 type of love”, a Bible verse often linked to patient, kind and enduring love, which only added fuel to the rumours. Nakai captioned hers with “HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! ”.

The reaction from fans sparked different comments. One side was convinced this was a soft launch of a new relationship, especially given how natural their chemistry looked.

The other side focused on whether Nakai is officially moving on from her late boyfriend and rapper AKA, who was shot and killed in Durban on Florida Road in February 2023.

The reason behind this speculation is that Nakai was in a relationship with AKA at the time of his passing, which made some fans extra cautious about jumping to conclusions.

Others, however, felt it was a reminder that life continues and healing doesn’t follow a fixed timeline.

“It’s been three years since AKA passed on. You guys should leave Nadia alone. She is young and deserves to be loved; there’s nothing wrong with moving on. AKA is never coming back, guys, come on,” wrote @i_am_nokuthula.

Adding another layer to the conversation, the pair continued to post their interactions on Instagram Stories. This time, it was more public, as Toss was seen at Nakai’s beauty brand stall at a mall, casually talking.

Nakai recently launched Naked Without by Bragga Cosmetics at the Mall of Africa. While previously talking about the ins and outs of her entrepreneurial career, she showcased her make-up kiosk with a range of products.

While this might have looked like a well-sold concept, they have not confirmed whether it was just for visuals or if it’s a hard launch of their newfound love.
