The Delhi government is taking significant strides in asset management with its new digital tool, the Delhi Asset Management Information System (DAMIS). With approximately 14,000 properties now catalogued, this initiative aims to streamline land-resource management.
Officials reveal that DAMIS will facilitate the efficient usage of government properties, aiding in the development of crucial infrastructure such as schools and hospitals. This system addresses the current challenges of fragmented and outdated asset data by providing a centralized and updated repository.
The new system features GIS-enabled tools, allowing departments to enter asset details, create customized reports, and utilize satellite imagery for comprehensive spatial analysis. Departments are urged to complete asset data entries swiftly, ensuring the government has a unified and clear view of its resources.
