Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited multiple exhibition pavilions on Monday at the India AI Impact Expo 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, engaging with startups, researchers, and technology leaders ahead of the event’s official inauguration. The Expo runs from February 16 to 20 alongside the India AI Impact Summit 2026, the first international AI summit hosted in the Global South.

The summit and Expo serve as a national showcase of AI in action, integrating policy, innovation, and large-scale implementation. Spread across 10 arenas covering over 70,000 sq. metres, the Expo features more than 300 curated pavilions, 600 high-potential startups, and 13 country pavilions including Australia, Japan, Russia, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Estonia, Tajikistan, and African nations.

Over 500 sessions with 3,250 speakers will highlight AI applications across three thematic “chakras” — People, Planet, and Progress. India is unveiling 12 indigenous foundation models under the IndiaAI Mission, trained on vast domestic datasets and supporting the nation’s 22 official languages.

With over 2.5 lakh visitors expected, including international delegates, the summit underscores India’s growing role as a global hub for AI innovation, bridging technology, policy, and real-world impact in a market projected to surpass USD 17 billion by 2027.
