Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a significant visit to Assam this Saturday, marking the inauguration of the region’s first emergency landing facility (ELF) located on the Moran Bypass in Dibrugarh district.
Welcomed by a distinguished assembly, including Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Prime Minister landed at Chabua airfield before proceeding to the Rs 100-crore, 4.2-km ELF via a C-130 aircraft.
The itinerary also featured a stunning 40-minute aerial display by the Indian Air Force, showcasing fighters and helicopters. Modi’s visit underscores the strategic infrastructural and defense advancements in India’s northeastern corridor.
