Health Update: Health Update: Ok Tedi launches wellness campaign to promote employee health – What Experts Say– What Experts Say.

OK Tedi Mining Limited (Ok Tedi) is strengthening its employee health and wellbeing for a healthier, active and resilient lifestyle across all its operations, says an executive.

General manager engineering, infrastructure and projects Franz Hemetsberger said a key feature of Ok Tedi’s 90 Days Live Well Campaign was the new Live Well App, a digital tool developed to support employees on their personal wellbeing journeys.

“The app allows employees to track progress, set goals, and access practical resources on fitness, nutrition, mental health, and daily healthy
habits,” he said during the campaign launch last month.

“Our employees are the heart of Ok Tedi. Supporting their long-term health is essential to maintaining a strong, productive and high-performing workforce.”

To inspire staff, the launch featured motivational sessions with Papua New Guinean and international rugby league star Justin Olam and Dr Vigilanda Solijon, who both urged employees to prioritise their wellbeing and stay disciplined in their daily habits.

Reflecting on the importance of family and community obligations, Olam reminded employees that: “As Melanesians, we have aunties, uncles and bubus who depend on us.

“To continue supporting our families, we must make our health a priority.”

Olam also joined the Ok Tedi health services team in rolling out engagement activities across the operations, reinforcing key health messages and encouraging strong participation on site.

Ok Tedi health services manager Raymond Singamis said the Live Well App puts practical wellbeing tools directly into people’s hands.
