Health Update: Health Update: Active Orange sessions to focus on physical and financial wellness – What Experts Say– What Experts Say.
ORANGE, Ohio – Two sessions of Active Orange – an initiative to promote wellness and healthy living led by Councilman Ryan Bilsky – will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 14 and Feb. 21 at Village Hall, 4600 Lander Road.
The program is open to all village residents.
Bilsky, an avid runner and fitness enthusiast, launched the initiative in January of last year.
On Feb. 14, Bilsky will be joined by Orange resident Jody Trostler. The topic will be “Physical Wellness in the New Year.”
Trostler is a certified personal trainer, a certified MedFit menopause health and fitness coach, a Precision Nutrition Level 2 master health coach and a group fitness instructor, according to the village’s website.
This session is open to everyone – all ages and physical levels – including non-village residents.
The topic of the Feb. 21 session will be “Financial Wellness in the New Year.”
For this session, Bilsky will be joined by Orange resident Kery Hutner.
Hutner is a managing director and partner with Oxford Harriman & Co., an investment service in Beachwood. She has more than 20 years of experience as a financial advisor, according to the village’s website.
Bilsky and Hutner are both certified financial planners.
In a post about Active Orange on the village’s website, Bilsky said he believes wellness focuses on three primary components: physical wellness, mental/emotional wellness and financial wellness.
“I make a conscious effort every day, for myself and for my family, to do everything I can to optimize each of those components,” Bilsky said.
“It can be hard, and it definitely takes effort, but the outcome is hopefully a good, peaceful and productive life for yourself, your loved ones, your community and whomever and whatever else you dedicate your time and attention to.”
Bilsky said there is a lot to think about when it comes to maintaining good health and an active lifestyle.
He said the Feb. 14 session will cover “some of the basics and hopefully serve as educational and provide ideas for where you can start, or improve, some of what you (or a loved one) is doing today.”
Discussion topics will include nutrition, physical activity, sleep management, stress management and preventative care.
