Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood previously had their own show, which saw their arguments play out on TV.
Olivia Attwood’s ex-boyfriend Chris Hughes was allegedly “humiliated” during their relationship, which began on series three of dating show Love Island. The former couple were known to have their quarrels, with the nation bearing witness to them on the pair’s own ITVBe show.
Chris and Olivia met in 2017 on Love Island, where they came in third place in the final. After they left the villa, their relationship sparked interest from viewers who were curious to see if their romance would blossom or crumble in the outside world.
The following year, the former couple launched their own show, Chris and Olivia: Crackin’ On. This show gave fans insight into their everyday lives and how their relationship developed, reports the Mirror.
However, it certainly wasn’t plain sailing, as the show also documented their arguments. In one explosive feud, Chris was seen to be visibly upset saying that he no longer wanted to be with Olivia, who “can never do anything wrong”.
Olivia later went on to claim that the pair had been in countless arguments as a result of Chris’s alleged behaviour with other women at the time. Another scene also showed Olivia branding Chris “f***ing nasty” as he told his ex-girlfriend to not talk to him again.
Now eight years on from the show, sources have claimed that the relationship was “very difficult” for the Celebrity Big Brother star.
A source explained to Mail Online: “Chris is literally the nicest guy you could meet. He is often referred to as the nicest man in showbiz, nobody has a bad word to say about him.
“But Olivia went for him on their show and it was very difficult for him. Viewers would often say that she gaslit Chris and humiliated him. It was horrible.”
Chris and Olivia decided to split up in the same year at the show aired. The split was put down to a “breach of trust” following claims that Olivia had been texting her ex-boyfriend, who is now her estranged husband, Bradley Dack.
A source claims that Chris was allegedly the one who found the messages. They added: “Imagine if he hadn’t. She might be with him now still and that would be truly horrifying.”
Since the 2018 split, the Loose Women panellist has been seen to make a subtle dig at her ex and his new girlfriend, JoJo Siwa, by sharing a video of herself miming to the song Pretty Little Baby by Connie Francis.
Captioning the post, Olivia wrote: “I just know this is going to trigger people so badly.” In the clip, the reality star can be seen flicking her eyes when the lyrics say: “Pretty little baby”. She is then seen to burst out laughing afterwards.
Olivia has now also reportedly split from her husband Bradley after being married for over two years. This separation is also allegedly been put down to a breach of trust.
The former couple first met before Olivia entered the villa nearly a decade ago. While their initial relationship broke down due to Bradley cheating on her, the pair worked through their issues following Olivia’s split from Chris, with Bradley dropping down onto one knee in 2019.
While some fans still have hope that the former couple will be able to rekindle their marriage, sources say there is no chance of this happening.
A source said: “They have always managed to overcome any problems between them, including distance, their busy careers, and, in the past, betrayals from Bradley’s side.
“But after meeting over a decade ago, Bradley’s recent breach of trust, which came as a complete shock to Olivia, has led them to end their marriage. After being on and off at the start of their romance, some people have questioned whether this breakup is temporary, but it’s definitely not.”
