The Delhi government is exploring options to address traffic congestion by potentially building a new bridge over the Yamuna River. The proposal, put forward by the Trans-Yamuna Board, aims at enhancing connectivity in the city’s eastern districts.
A senior official noted that the plan is still in its early stages. The objective is to facilitate better transportation links between North East, North, and Central Delhi.
With the opening of new RRTS stations and expressways, traffic is expected to intensify on the Ring Road, especially near Sarai Kale Khan. The proposed bridge, whose location is still under consideration, could provide much-needed relief. The Public Works Department will conduct feasibility studies along possible routes.
