Despite being one of the most talked-about albums of last year, Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl was excluded from the 2026 Grammy nominations.

The pop star continues to break records with her music, only growing with every album drop. Number 12 was no exception as The Life of a Showgirl, which was released on October 3, 2025, became the fastest-selling album in history and racked in over 1.2 million copies of vinyl. It was received immediately by the charts, snagging a No. 1 slot. Taylor’s lead single, The Fate of Ophelia, spent 10 weeks at the top.

However, it was left out of the Grammy nominations, despite her longtime success at the award show. After all, the Bad Blood singer has secured 14 Grammy awards in total, including a record-holding four Album of the Year awards.

Why wasn’t The Life of a Showgirl nominated for a Grammy Award?

There was no slight toward Taylor with the nominations list. In fact, The Life of a Showgirl just technically wasn’t eligible during this award show cycle. Only recordings released between August 31, 2024, and August 30, 2025, were considered for the nominations. However, at the 2027 award ceremony, Taylor is likely to snag a nomination or two given the show’s history.
