Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday asked officials to expand the use of technology in governance to reduce the workload on field-level staff. With the help of advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), Naidu said, officials should focus on technology-driven decision-making using readily available data and analytics, and improve speed and efficiency.Naidu held a meeting with officials of various departments to review the functioning of the real time governance society (RTGS) and the effectiveness of service delivery through it. He said that concerned staff in all departments should be trained, and performance audits should be done on a regular basis to improve efficiency.Naidu directed officials to work towards declaring 2026 as the ‘technology-driven decision-making’ year. He asked officials to increase the use of AI in government services. He suggested that all departments should explore the possibilities of using AI tools to resolve public grievances in less time. Officials informed the chief minister that 878 government services are being delivered through the Mana Mitra-WhatsApp governance platform, and that 1.43 crore people used the services so far. Naidu also reviewed the functioning of the health, agriculture, revenue, roads, transport and fire services departments.
