BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 26. The
Azerbaijan-Israel Business Forum was held in Baku, Trend reports.

The event was attended by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy
Mikayil Jabbarov, Israel’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon
Sa’ar, and Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Export and
Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) Yusif Abdullayev.

Speaking at the event, Mikayil Jabbarov emphasized that
Azerbaijan and Israel possess a solid foundation of political
trust, Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov said during
the Azerbaijan-Israel Business Forum in Baku.

“Political trust and constructive dialogue between Azerbaijan
and Israel have been shaped by years of engagement at both
political and institutional levels. High-level contacts remain
crucial in strengthening bilateral relations. Last week’s meeting
between the presidents of both countries at the World Economic
Forum in Davos highlighted the steady development of
Azerbaijan-Israel relations across a broad spectrum of areas and
pointed to promising opportunities for further cooperation,”
Jabbarov said.

Jabbarov emphasized that deepening economic ties with Israel
remains a strategic priority for Azerbaijan, pursued through a
practical and results-oriented approach in sectors of mutual
interest. He also noted ongoing efforts to reinforce the bilateral
legal and contractual framework that underpins cooperation.

He added that the volume of mutual investments between
Azerbaijan and Israel amounts to approximately $600 million.

“Our cooperation is supported by agreements on the promotion and
mutual protection of investments, as well as on the avoidance of
double taxation, which form a solid legal basis for expanding
business ties. Currently, 130 commercial structures with Israeli
capital are operating in Azerbaijan,” he said.

The minister noted that the two countries have built a strong
and pragmatic partnership that has yielded tangible results in a
wide range of sectors.

Yusif Abdullayev mentioned that Azerbaijani companies will be
provided with information on potential infrastructure projects in
Israel.

Abdullayev noted that an agreement had been reached with Israeli
counterparts regarding the dissemination of information provided by
Israel’s Ministry of Finance on upcoming infrastructure projects in
the country.

“Together with our colleagues from Israel, we agreed on the
information to be shared by Israel’s Ministry of Finance regarding
forthcoming infrastructure projects. We will distribute this
information among Azerbaijani companies to raise awareness of
potential partnerships,” Abdullayev said.

He added that AZPROMO also discussed practical steps with
Israeli partners aimed at attracting Azerbaijani companies to
industrial infrastructure projects in Israel.

“We agreed on aligning a development-oriented business agenda
for Israel and identifying companies that may be interested in
further deepening cooperation,” Abdullayev noted.

Gideon Sa’ar noted that Azerbaijan and Israel intend to raise
their strategic partnership to a new level.

“We strive to increase mutual investment and develop
people-to-people contacts. I’m confident we’ll succeed,” he
mentioned.

According to the minister, Israel and Azerbaijan are pillars of
stability in their regions and have developed economies.

Sa’ar noted that trade between the countries increased by
approximately 50% in 2025, exceeding $360 million.

“I’m confident that next year and in the years to come, these
figures will be even higher, but this growth is already
significant,” the minister explained.

According to him, Azerbaijan holds an important regional
position and boasts a key geographic location.
