Actor Quinton Aaron, who played the role of Michael Oher in the 2009 film The Blind Side, is said to have suffered a serious fall at home and is now on life support

Sandra Bullock’s costar in The Blind Side, Quinton Aaron, is currently ‘fighting for his life’ in hospital due to a severe blood infection.

The 41-year-old actor, who played the role of Michael Oher in the 2009 movie, is on life support after suffering a serious fall at his home, and now his loved ones have set up a GoFundMe page to raise donations to cover his medical bills, as well as his family’s expenses.

The current target is set at $10,000 as Aaron’s nearest and dearest explained, “When someone is this critically ill, life doesn’t pause. Bills don’t stop. Expenses continue to pile up. And no family should have to choose between focusing on their loved one’s survival and worrying about how they will make it through financially.”

They continued, “Quinton is one of the kindest, most genuine people you could ever meet. He shows up for others. He encourages, uplifts, and gives freely of himself, often without asking for anything in return. Today, he needs us to show up for him.

“Quinton is currently hospitalized and on life support due to a severe blood infection. This has been sudden, frightening, and overwhelming for his loved ones. As he fights for his life, his family is facing an immense emotional and financial burden — medical expenses, living costs, and the uncertainty of how long this road to recovery may be.”

According to Daily Mail, Aaron’s manager, Katrina Fristoe, said he is “receiving excellent medical care” and is with family.

“The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of support from fans and the media but respectfully requests privacy during this time,” she added.

The GoFundMe added, “Please keep Quinton in your thoughts and prayers. Please give if you can. Please share so others can help. Together, we can lift this burden from his family and help give Quinton the support he needs to heal.”

Aaron portrayed real-life football player Michael Oher in the 2009 film The Blind Side, while Bullock played Michael’s adoptive mother Leigh Anne Tuohy. The actress went on to win an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for her performance.

In August 2023, Oher filed a lawsuit alleging the Tuohys (Leigh Anne and her husband Sean) had not adopted him but, rather, misled him into signing a conservatorship agreement under the belief it was adoption papers.

The agreement enabled them to make business deals under his name including, allegedly, the creation of the movie The Blind Side.

This resulted in a judge ending the conservatorship, who also declined to dismiss the case in September 2023. The Tuohys later told the court they would remove all mentions to Oher being adopted from their website and public speaking advertisements.
