Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian might not have patched things up, but Kim still admitted there’s some love there — just not when it comes to their personal feelings

Kim Kardashian, 45, doesn’t hold her past feud against Taylor Swift, 36, when it comes to dabbling in her music.

The socialite admitted that she still keeps a few Taylor songs on her playlist. In fact, she even called the pop star “super talented,” despite previously picking her ex-husband Kanye West’s side in the feud. While appearing on her sister Khloe Kardashian’s podcast, Kim said, “I have her, like, some of her older songs on my playlist. I’ve always thought she was like a super talented, great artist.”

She didn’t specify which of Taylor’s tracks made the cut, but Kim did say she loves country music. Taylor’s debut self-titled album certainly fits the bill since she entered the music world in the country genre. Plus, her following albums Fearless and Speak Now both continued to be influence by country even as they veered toward the pop sound.

Her more sympathetic approach to Taylor seemed off kilter, considering the Kanye, 48, and Taylor feud all started with a diss at the Bad Blood singer’s artistic talents during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Even Khloe, 41, said Kim’s listening habits would likely “surprise” the public, but Kim said she’s never hidden the fact that she’ll throw on a Taylor tune.

During the historic pop culture moment, Kanye jumped on stage and interrupted Taylor’s acceptance speech after she was handed the award for Best Female Video. While Taylor was being honored for her song “You Belong With Me,” Kanye insisted it was an injustice and the VMA should have been handed to Beyonce for “Single Ladies.”

“Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you and Imma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time,” Kanye famously said, with Taylor expressing her confusion over the moment during a later interview at the event.

Taylor and Kanye seemed to patch things over for awhile before the rapper included references to her in his song “Famous,” where he insisted he was the one who brought her notoriety. In fact, he even called her a “b–ch” and claimed they “might still have sex.” The music video even showed a wax doll of a topless Taylor in bed with the star.

After Taylor publicly denounced her likeness being used, specifically drawing concern with his used of the word “b–ch,” Kim stepped in. She released video footage of a phone conversation between Kanye and Taylor, which appeared to show her consenting. Taylor didn’t know their conversation was being recorded, and still maintained to the public that there were aspects of the song and video that she wasn’t aware of and weren’t discussed.

Years later, new footage came out with the full conversation, proving Kim’s version was doctored. In many ways, though, the damage was already done and a schism was already established. Kim had started a wave of hate toward Taylor, who was referred to as a “snake” by critics.

After Kim and Kanye divorced, the SKIMS founder’s involvement in the beef seemed to fall away. While Kanye still threw an occasional dig or reference at Taylor, Kim went pretty mute. In fact, the Kardashian clan even ushered in a bit of Taylor love with the new generation.

Kim and Kanye’s daughter, North West, was seen lip syncing to Taylor’s song “Shake It Off” in a TikTok video. Thereafter, Taylor released a song called “thanK you aIMee” on her 2023 album “The Tortured Poets Department.” The lyrics of the song seemed to pick at the situation as Taylor sang, “And one day, your kid comes home singing / A song that only us two is gonna know is about you ’cause.”

Notably, the capitalized letters in the song title spell out “KIM,” but Taylor never publicly confirmed who the song was pointed at. However, another lyric shouted out the fact that the inspiration is absolutely not named “Aimee;” Taylor sang, “I don’t think you’ve changed much / And so I changed your name and any real defining clues.”

More recently, Taylor seemed to take a jab at another one of Kim’s moves. In 2018, the reality TV star sent out valentines to those she considered “haters,” and she included Taylor’s name on that list.

In Taylor’s track “Actually Romantic” off of “The Tortured Poets Department,” she seemed to make a reference to that move. While the song is long-since speculated to be about Charli XCX, Taylor is known for her autobiographical writing and double meaning lyrics, so it easily could be about both of the clashes.

The lyrics said, “Hadn’t thought of you in a long time / But you keep sending me funny valentines.”
