David Beckham found himself in an awkward exchange about his son, Brooklyn, after the latter went scorched earth on his parents.

There have been months of rumours surrounding the Beckhams and that David and Victoria’s eldest has gone no-contact with them, following a number of stories surrounding a potential family feud that stemmed from Brooklyn’s mum, Victoria, and his wife, Nicola Peltz.

On Monday evening, Brooklyn released a lengthy statement surrounding the family feud, saying that he has no intention of reconciling with his parents and accusing them of ‘controlling’ his life and image, among other notable incidents surrounding the wedding.

Following the bombshell statement from Brooklyn, it appeared to be business as usual for the well-trained David and Victoria — with David being asked about his son by a Sky News reporter as he arrived at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

David was asked if he had a message for Brooklyn on Tuesday morning, with him looking right through the reporter before saying hello to another person in attendance.

David was then asked if he was disappointed to see that family business was being aired publicly, with him also ignoring that question as he headed into the forum.

Brooklyn made a number of bombshell claims against his parents in a scathing statement on social media, after he became estranged from his family at the start of last year.

In a series of Instagram stories on Monday evening (January 19), Brooklyn wrote: ‘I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.

‘For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.’

‘Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out,’ he continued.

He went on to claim that David and Victoria have been ‘endlessly trying to ‘ruin’ his marriage to Nicola, which stemmed from Victoria reportedly cancelling plans to design her future daughter-in-law’s wedding dress at the 11th hour, and that he was being ‘bribed’ by his family to ‘sign away’ the rights to his name.

Brooklyn added that they ‘never treated him the same’ since he held out on the signing, and that the night before the wedding, he said that Nicola was ‘not blood’ and ‘not family.’

‘Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I’ve received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders,’ Brooklyn went on to claim. ‘Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last summer.

‘My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic song. In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.

‘She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.’

Brooklyn went on to claim that Victoria ‘invited’ women from his past back into his life, in what he said was a move ‘clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable,’ and that he would only be invited to his father’s birthday party if his wife wasn’t there.

‘The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety,’ Brooklyn concluded.

‘For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief.

‘My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want is peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.’
