Robert Irwin has officially returned to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! as Channel 10’s golden boy — all sunshine, khaki energy and “how good is this!” vibes. But apparently, behind the scenes, it wasn’t all smooth sailing.
If you thought the jungle drama would be dominated by hunger tantrums and who gets the worst bed, think again. Insiders have told PEDESTRIAN.TV that Robert’s Dancing With The Stars victory in the US followed him into camp like a clingy ex and became such a constant topic of conversation that producers had to slash most of it from the edit. Yep, cut. Gone. Zapped into the void.
I’m A Celebrity edits out Dancing With The Stars mention
According to a production source, the moment this year’s celebs arrived and met Robert and his co-host Julia Morris, the whole camp basically turned into a DWTS post-match interview. Producers reportedly tried to steer people away from it, but no one could help themselves.
“It got to the point where it was the same question over and over again,” a source close to production told P.TV. “Every single celebrity wanted to talk to Robert about Dancing With The Stars, and Robert, being Robert, happily answered it every time.
“It was hilarious, but from an editing point of view, it became repetitive really quickly.”
I mean, can you really blame the celebs? If you had the wildlife warrior standing in front of you, fresh off one of 2025’s most viral moments, would you be able to resist asking him to spill the tea? Exactly.
But while producers were probably hoping for the classic early-season cocktail, nerves, culture clashes and camp politics, they were allegedly losing their minds trying to get an episode out that wasn’t 80 per cent ballroom recap.
Eventually, most of the DWTS chatter was left on the cutting room floor with only a few blink-and-you’ll-miss-it references remaining.
“There are little cheeky mentions left in, but overall, barely any of it made the final cut,” the insider added. “It wasn’t great content. Robert answered the same thing 8 million times.”
TBH, that all makes sense, but it will definitely be a missed opportunity if there isn’t at least one DWTS-themed tucker trial throughout the season.
