The civic body of Navsari, a city in Gujarat, has embarked on an ambitious Rs 112 crore project to overhaul its water supply and drainage systems. This initiative aims to serve over 25,000 residents, significantly enhancing the area’s infrastructure, officials announced on Friday.

The Navsari Municipal Corporation, established in January 2025 following the merger of Navsari-Vijalpore Municipality with nearby villages, is tackling persistent civil issues with this substantial project. The approved plan includes the construction of a comprehensive water and drainage network, representing a notable investment in public infrastructure.

The project will be executed in phases, bringing modern infrastructure such as new water pipelines, sewage plants, and roads to the newly incorporated villages. Civic leader Dev Chaudhary emphasized that improving basic facilities like drainage systems and cleanliness efforts stands at the forefront of the Corporation’s agenda for the coming year.
