It was unclear if Rourke has relocated due to him being officially kicked out of his home, which is described as a “nicely upgraded Spanish bungalow” built in 1926.

The snapshots came after TMZ shared photos of Rourke looking haggard as he picked up a food and grocery delivery last week.
“Mickey Rourke had one tough 2025 … and it sure seems to have taken a toll on him, judging by recent snaps of the one-time Hollywood heartthrob,” the website wrote alongside the close-ups.

Rourke is reportedly living “paycheque to paycheque,” an insider told the Daily Mail.
“Mickey has lived the life of a rock star with plenty of drug and alcohol abuse over the years,” the source said. “So to see him worse for wear in recent pictures without the benefit of Hollywood movie magic, we shouldn’t be surprised that he looks nothing like he used to.”
‘Fame does not protect against hardship’
Rourke launched a GoFundMe over the weekend with a goal of $100,000 after People reported that the Oscar nominee was served with a notice to pay nearly $60,000 in rent on his Los Angeles home.
According to a filing obtained by the outlet, Rourke was served a notice on Dec. 18 to pay the $59,100 he allegedly owes his landlord.
The GoFundMe, titled “Help Mickey Rourke Stay in His Home,” has raised over $80,000 so far with a goal of $100,000.
“Mickey is facing a very real and urgent situation: The threat of eviction from his home,” the fundraising note says.
The posting goes on to list Rourke’s accomplishments on the big screen, including his memorable roles in Francis Ford Coppola’s Rumble Fish, Barry Levinson’s Diner and Adrian Lyne’s 9½ Weeks.

“Mickey Rourke entered American cinema like a force of nature — raw, fearless and utterly original. In the late 1970s and 1980s, he wasn’t just a movie star; he was a symbol of something rare: Danger paired with vulnerability, toughness paired with heart,” says the blurb, written by Rourke’s friend Liya-Joelle Jones.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter about the benefit, Jones said, “Mickey is going through a very difficult time right now and it’s been incredibly touching to see how many people care about him and want to help.”
After a promising start on the screen, Rourke transitioned to a career as a boxer in the early ’90s, but life in the ring didn’t prove easy.
“Boxing — real and punishing — left lasting physical and emotional scars and the industry that once celebrated him moved on quickly,” the fundraising note says. “What followed were years of struggle not defined by spectacle, but by survival: Health challenges, financial strain and the quiet toll of being left behind.”

The description goes on to call Rourke an “icon,” but the post says his downfall resembles the hardship many others face no matter what line of work they are in.
“His trajectory, as painful as it is, is also a deeply human one,” the GoFundMe adds. “It is the story of someone who gave everything to his work, took real risks and paid real costs. Fame does not protect against hardship and talent does not guarantee stability. What remains is a person who deserves dignity, housing and the chance to regain his footing.”
With the funds, organizers hope Rourke “can stay in his home and have the space to get back on his feet.
“The goal is simple: To give Mickey stability and peace of mind during an extremely stressful time,” the note says.

Rourke’s career has been a roller-coaster
After breaking out with a scene-stealing role in 1981’s Body Heat, Rourke became one of the biggest actors of the 1980s with parts in Rumble Fish, Angel Heart (which co-starred Robert De Niro), Barfly, with Faye Dunaway, and the erotic drama 9½ Weeks opposite Kim Basinger.

He also worked with Anthony Hopkins in 1990’s Desperate Hours, Matt Damon in 1997’s The Rainmaker, Sylvester Stallone in 2000’s Get Carter remake, Denzel Washington in 2004’s Man on Fire and acted as Marv in a pair of film adaptations of Frank Miller’s Sin City comics.
An Academy Award nomination in 2008 for Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler led to Rourke being cast as the villain in Iron Man 2 and a part in Stallone’s Expendables action franchise. But he could not sustain that success and slowly settled back into acting in a string of little-seen, straight-to-DVD titles.
Earlier in 2025, Rourke tried to revive his career with a stint on Celebrity Big Brother UK, but he was kicked off the show after getting into a much-publicized dust-up with JoJo Siwa and threatening fellow contestant Chris Hughes.
“Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother house this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behaviour,” a spokesperson for the reality spinoff told Variety at the time.

“I’m sorry. I can’t take it back, you know, I stepped over the line and I take responsibility for doing the wrong thing,” Rourke said in a now-deleted exit video that was posted to YouTube. “Because I lost my temper and I’ve been trying to work on it my whole life. And I wish I would have had better self-control and I’m very sorry. I’m ashamed of myself for losing it for a few seconds there.”
Rourke said that while no one got hurt, his reaction showed that he hadn’t learned to control his “short fuse.”
