Hisar: Days after Abhay Chautala alleged that BJP MLA Vinod Bhayana had purchased land in Hansi, and that the govt had declared Hansi a district to provide him with financial benefits, Bhayana on Sunday launched a counterattack by saying that he will “quit politics” if Chautala can provide any proof of even a single inch of land purchased by him.Addressing a press conference at the PWD Rest House, Hansi, Bhayana described Chautala’s statements as “desperate and baseless,” and challenged him to substantiate his claims.Throwing an open challenge, Bhayana said, “If it is proven that I bought even an inch of land in Hansi for my personal benefit in the last 3 years, I will retire from politics the same day.” Taking a dig at Chautala, he added that if Chautala was willing to give even 5 percent of the property he acquired through politics—excluding ancestral land—Bhayana would be ready to transfer his entire property in Chautala’s name. Bhayana said that former deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Devi Lal is still remembered with great respect across the country, but the political legacy weakened due to the actions of his descendants. Clarifying his stand on the CLU (Change of Land Use) controversy, the MLA said that the video recording in question was arranged by people close to Abhay Chautala himself. “The video does not show me demanding money or being offered any,” he said. The MLA asserted that making Hansi a district was a decades-old public demand. He accused his opponents of being unable to digest the region’s development. MSID:: 126335141 413 |
