Gypsy-Rose Blanchard is basking in motherhood.
When the 34-year-old celebrated the first birthday of her and boyfriend Ken Urker’s daughter Aurora, it sparked Gypsy to reflect on how much her life has changed for the better since welcoming their little one.
“This Year, my world became quieter and louder all at once,” Gypsy wrote in a Dec. 30 post. “Softer, sweeter, and filled with a kind of love I never knew existed. From tiny fingers and sleepless nights to belly laughs and brave little steps, this year has changed me forever.”
Accompanying the caption were pictures of Aurora as a newborn, and as a newly 1-year-old smiling astride a toy horse.
“Watching her grow has been the greatest privilege of my life,” Gypsy concluded. “Goodbye 2025 and welcome 2026.”
Ken also shared a message of his own, alongside photos of Aurora surrounded by new toys and decorations from the Ms. Rachel themed party.
“My little girl turns ONE!” Ken wrote Dec. 29. “Thank you to everyone for making her day so special. She was surrounded by so much love.”

While Aurora is only one, Gypsy-Rose—who was released from prison in December 2023 after eight years in jail for her role in the 2015 killing of her mother Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard—has previously shared how she hopes that her past won’t affect her daughter’s view of her in the future.
“I just don’t want that to cloud her mind and her end up hating me,” Gypsy-Rose shared in a May episode of her Lifetime series Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup. “I’m not a monster. I don’t want her to grow up thinking that I’m one.”
She continued, “You hear about families that have deep, dark secrets, and they have skeletons in their closet, and their kids disown them and hate them growing up and resent them. I just don’t want that to be the case for us.”

And her own experiences have made her want to become not just a mother her daughter respects, but the best mother possible.
“I can’t stand it whenever I’m making Aurora a bottle and she’s crying for like a minute and a half,” she added. “I want to comfort her, I want to make it all better. Knowing that my mom was in the room with me when I was screaming in pain after a surgery or a procedure or a test. And I’m like, ‘How? How?'”
Ultimately, she doesn’t want to dwell on the past—she wants to move forward.
As she put it, “This little tiny person is a fresh start for you to instill morals, values, beliefs, hopes, dreams.”
